JOB DESCRIPTION

•    Negotiating with suppliers on pricing, terms, and conditions of sale.
•    Reviewing bids received from suppliers for potential purchase orders based on price, quality, delivery terms, and other factors.
•    Managing inventory levels of supplies and materials to ensure adequate supply while minimizing costs.
•    Monitoring contract compliance and making sure that suppliers adhere to contractual obligations such as maintaining insurance coverage or providing timely delivery of products or services.
•    Creating purchase orders and other documentation necessary to initiate a purchase transaction.

• To find possible suppliers and assess their suitability for particular goods or services, conduct market research.
• Finding areas where strategic sourcing methods, such offshore procurement, might save costs.

•    Examining purchase orders and other documents to make sure they adhere to the rules and regulations of the business.
• Suggested modifications to purchasing practices that would lower expenses or increase efficiency.

• Recognize the demands for purchases and create plans to guarantee the economical acquisition of goods and services.
• Examine suppliers and industry trends to find areas where money might be saved.
• Discuss terms and prices with suppliers while keeping quality, delivery, and other aspects in mind.
• Track delivery, create and issue purchase orders, and settle any disputes.
Control stock turnover and inventory levels to reduce waste and obsolescence.

 

REQUIREMENTS

•    Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field.
•    Master’s degree in business or related field
•    CPP or APICS certification
•    Experience managing a team of buyers
•    Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems
•    3-5 years professional experience in purchasing or a similar role
•    Proven negotiation skills with vendors and suppliers
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
•    Highly organized with superb attention to detail
