  1. Orders, receives or oversees the ordering and receipt of material, stock, and supplies for the hospital; uses the department’s computer system to maintain verification of all transactions.
  2. Researches cost, quality and availability of goods; selects appropriate goods and vendors; and makes purchases that comply with the department’s budgetary guidelines.
  3. Assists hospital staff in evaluating new products and suggesting product substitutions when necessary.
  4. Inspects items received for accurate weight, count and condition; verifies that stock meets specifications and that orders are complete; and resolves order problems with vendors and departments.
  5. supervision of stored products based on style, size, material, etc. in accordance with departmental protocols; supplies are rotated to make sure nothing expires before usage.
  6. Delivers supplies to the proper hospital on a regular or emergency basis; may supervise the supply or distribution of supplies by completing requisition forms and cross-referencing stock numbers, nomenclature, etc.; keeps track of the supplies that are received and distributed to departments.
  7. Maintains a hygienic, orderly, and clean storeroom; has the authority to decide how the space is organized physically.
  8. Weekly and semi-annual stock room supply inventories are carried out; inventory upkeep is supervised, and when appropriate, redistribution of stored products is decided upon.
  9. Compile purchase orders and confirm with Accounts Payable that the orders have been received.
  10. Evaluate supply needs turnover rates, cost, perishability, hazardous nature of goods, and storage limitations; may consult with departments in planning the range and quality of materials to be stocked.
  11. Monitors the storeroom budget by maintaining records of expenditures and reconciling accounts; may document storeroom operations for billing and inventory control.
  12. Supervises the activities of other Storekeepers by training, directing or assigning work, providing goals and objectives, evaluating performance, and assisting in the interviewing process; may give work direction in the Manager/Supervisor’s absence.
  13. Prepare a local purchase order for non-medical items as well as a Material Requisition Note (MRN) or Purchase Order to NMC Trading Est.
  14. accepting and inspecting incoming consignment deliveries of goods from suppliers to Cathlab, coordinating with the relevant physicians and technicians on problems, and maintaining monthly physical inventory verification.
  15. Using an inventory package based on Tally, physical verification of document and inventory control is performed.
  16. daily usage monitoring in each of the substores to ensure the minimum stock level is maintained
  17. Oversee the department’s half-yearly inventory take, and alert management to any products that are about to expire.
  18. stock transfer reports from the main warehouse are reconciled.
  19. The main store takes a month-end stock count to review the discrepancy report.



  1. At least a graduate Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) with previous storeroom supervision and/or employee leadership experienced may be preferred.


  1. Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
  2. Good English spoken & written, Arabic language advantageous/desirable but not essential.
  3. Appropriate related trainings / seminars in Store Management is advantageous. (i.e., ISO 9000 awareness certificate, Diploma in Imports and Exports Management, etc)
  4. Computer literate.
