JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Maintain an active awareness of current threat levels and to remain vigilant in the reporting of any suspicious activities observed.
  • Provide friendly, helpful customer service whenever possible and at all times maintain collaborative working relationship (s) with Defence personnel (Military and Australian Public Service), other Defence contractors and external agencies (e.g., Local Police).

Entry Point Security Guard – Operational Duties:

  • Visual identification, verification, and P-tracking compliance, preventing entry and exit of all unauthorised personnel and vehicles.
  • Make sure guests follow the guidelines for the site induction.

     

  • Issue, acknowledge, and document transitory and visitor passes

     

  • Keep an eye on surveillance systems (if applicable and available).

     

  • serve as a disincentive to stop the unauthorized removal of defense assets or sensitive data.

     

Patrol security guards’ operational responsibilities:

  • Regularly patrol the authorized site(s), internal perimeters, and building exteriors and interiors without using force in order to prevent and identify any signs of incursion or malfunction.
  • As soon as an alarm is triggered on the base, react or divert.
  • React, respond to alerts, and look into any disruptions on base
  • driving a vehicle on internal base patrols and keeping an eye out for authorized people and vehicles, as well as preventing the unauthorized transfer of defense assets and/or sensitive information
  • Walk through the selected site or sites, the building’s façade, and its surrounds. Any shady dealings

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Individuals deployed into Security Guard roles on this contract will be a minimum Baseline AGSVA security level cleared as requested by our client – only Australian Citizens are eligible for security clearance
  • Fluent English communication skills (reading, writing and spoken) and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and work productively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively, meet the public, respond to questions, and furnish information
  • Ability to follow instructions explicitly and to exercise judgment and act quickly in an emergency situation Personnel have the appropriate accredited competencies, skills, proficiencies, licenses and qualification. This requires a minimum Certificate II in Security Operations, which must be compromised of the seven core units, the two electives CPPSEC2007A and CPPSEC2008A and at least two of the following (dependant on roles undertaken by guard):
    • CPPSEC2011A Control access to and exit from premises
    • CPPSEC2015A Patrol premises
    • CPPSEC2018A Monitor electronic reporting facility
    • TLI407C Carry out vehicle inspection; and
    • TLIE707B Use Communication Systems.
