  • Receive, unload, and process deliveries and account for incoming freight based on invoice and receiving reports. Stage merchandise by department, mark appropriately for placement in facility, and deliver merchandise to appropriate department.
  • Check and keep track of the material that has been received, and fill out reports and logs for it.
  • Match up shipping bills and receiving reports to make sure the count is correct. Take in, store, ship, and send departmental mail and packages that come in and go out.
  • Protect the receiving room and everything in it to keep the packages safe.
  • Follow all national, state, and local rules and instructions for shipping dangerous goods.
  • Put all of your mail and items in the mail. Check the number and state of packages when you get them before giving them to the guest.
  • Talk to the guest about the packages they got.
  • Keep an exact record of all shipping and receiving activities, including getting guests to sign for packages they receive.
  • If packages are lost or damaged, you should let the right people know.



Speak with others using clear and professional language; answer telephones using appropriate etiquette. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others. Read and visually verify information in a variety of formats (e.g., small print).
