JOB DESCRIPTION
- Cleans and services assigned rooms or areas according to established standards and procedures including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning, and sanitizing bathrooms, removing trash/rubbish, etc. May include cleaning of kitchen area, room refrigerator, coffee/tea maker, cups, glasses, silverware, etc.
- Wears safety protection equipment as provided in line with department regulations and any local legislative requirements.
- Handles and stores chemicals in line with hotel regulations and any local legislative requirements.
- Greets and acknowledges guests.
- Notifies the supervisor when the service is finished so that the rooms can be rented or sold.
- Notifies the supervisor of any room that cannot be serviced in accordance with approved protocols.
- Notifies the supervisor of any dangerous circumstances or necessary repairs.
- Observe established safety protocols at all times. Notify the manager or supervisor on duty right once of any security breaches, health and safety incidents, worries, or suspicious activity.
- takes steps to guarantee guest happiness and responds to concerns and special requests from visitors.
- minimizes waste in all facets of housekeeping while keeping an eye on and managing amenities and supplies.
- complies with established protocols by reporting, turning in, and/or logging any lost and discovered goods.
- keeps track of hotel information so that visitors can receive it.
- accompanies and conducts visitors to various hotel locations upon request.
REQUIREMENTS
- Communication skills – guests and colleagues will need to come to you with concerns as well as compliments, so you’ll be easy to talk to
- Fluency in the English language – extra language skills would be great, but not essential.
- Literate and tech-savvy – you’ll need a good grasp of reading, writing, basic maths, and computers, especially our reservations system, Opera.
- Flexibility – night, weekend and holiday shifts are all part of the job.
- You’ll have a high school diploma or qualification. A college or university degree would be a bonus, but not essential.
- Experience – ideally, you’ll have spent at least two years in a guest service position in a 5-star property.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
