JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Research, formulate, develop and update the Cargo and Mail Handling manual and Dubai Cargo Handling work Instructions, worldwide RFS including timely revision bulletins, covering all areas of cargo operations. Including timely revision bulletins in accordance to regulatory requirements, standard & recommended practices (i.e. IOSA, IATA, GDP, CIQ) and customer requirement covering all areas of cargo operations. Participate and provide critical inputs to CS&PC in the area of cargo operational, safety and security matters and contribute towards formulation of recommendation on these policy issues.
  • Actively involved in project plans such as introduction of new stations, passenger and freighter aircraft additions, Sky Chain projects on all operational aspects, representation of SkyCargo as focal point for all sub projects under CLC, Group Safety, Customs, IT and Group Security related specific national security programmes.
  • Find system gaps compared to standards and procedures, and be an active part in developing and redesigning the present system. Also, make sure that network-wide compliance is put into place. Focus on areas where safety problems are likely to happen, like carrying dangerous goods and other special cargo, as explained in the Cargo & Mail Handling Manual. This will help keep the workplace and plane activities safe.
  • Assist particular customers with the BUP procedures they need by communicating with Group Security to make sure that security rules are followed when GHAs accept cargo.
  • Talk to local regulators and outstations representatives and help them make sure that dangerous goods transport permits and other transportation permits are valid as needed.
  • Review, estimate, and get third-party supporting quality documents (IATA and ICAO manuals) on time to make sure the budget is followed effectively and efficiently and to make sure that the costs of manual delivery to the network are managed effectively and on time.
  • As part of evaluating the risk of the cargo operation process and the stated hazards, come to a conclusion that could be used to guide a review of policy and/or process procedures with the goal of continuous improvement. Help the station get more information and advice on how to adopt changes, new or changed policies, procedures, or processes, and make sure that an analysis is done to see how well they work.
  • Working with cargo managers and other important people to help guide the team in keeping an eye on processes and procedures for all cargo activities across the network to find cases of noncompliance, Assist SkyCargo across the network with all cargo operations problems and help put corrective measures into place across the network by giving advice on cargo operations issues.
  • Take part in station start-up activities by making sure that the necessary cargo is in the right place for operating start-up.
    items and the publications that are needed, such as manuals and procedures linked to operations. Work with Training and Route Management to make sure that new station employees get training on how to run the station. Work with the IT staff to make sure that access to manuals, the system directory, and the network directory has been properly shared and kept up to date.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent)
  • 3+ yrs   Experience in the airline industry preferably in a cargo/logistics environment
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of Emirates SkyCargo Standards and Procedures and IATA  , Regulations, Sound knowledge of regulations related to the handling of dangerous goods, perishables,   Pharmaceuticals and live animals.
