JOB DESCRIPTION
- Oversee the billing process and ensure accurate and timely invoicing of clients.
- Monitor and track outstanding client invoices, identify delinquent accounts, and take necessary actions to expedite collections.
- Conduct regular follow-ups with clients regarding outstanding payments, answer billing inquiries, and resolve any billing-related issues promptly and professionally.
- Reconcile billing records with the firm’s accounting system to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Coordinate with inward offices to accumulate important documentation, for example, commitment letters, time passages, and cost reports, for the end goal of charging.
- Remain refreshed on client charging rules and guarantee consistence with charging conventions and legitimate necessities.
- Offer help during reviews and help with planning charging related reports on a case by case basis.
- Help with executing process upgrades and advancing charging methodology to improve proficiency and viability.
- Team up with the money group to recognize and determine any inconsistencies or issues connected with client records and charging records.
- Direct instructional courses and give direction to junior staff individuals on charging and assortments processes, as required.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Billings and Collections Specialist in a private practice, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment.
REQURIEMENTS
- Strong knowledge of billing and collections processes, including invoicing, payment tracking, and collections strategies.
- Proficiency in using CMS Accounting Systems (or similar billing software) to manage billing processes and generate accurate invoices.
- Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to review complex billing data and identify discrepancies.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with attorneys, clients, and internal stakeholders.
